| The 2003 model Yamaha R6 has been revealed in Europe. While outwardly similar to the old model, the new bike features a host of new technologies, including suction-piston fuel injection (as used on the 2002 R1), a cast aluminium frame, cast swingarm and high-performance aerodynamic bodywork.
The new bike has a claimed maximum power output of 123bhp@13,000rpm with forced air induction. Dry weight is also very light at just 162kg. |

| The changes should keep the R6 at the top of the 600cc class, but will have to deal with new models from Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki. These new 2003 models confirm the 600 class as one of the most important for Japanese manufacturers.
