| TRIUMPH has unveiled its updated Daytona 955i superbike at the London Excel show. The sporty triple has had a power boost and cosmetic makeover, as well as shedding 10 kg over the older bike.
Most obvious chassis change is the double-sided swingarm, which accounts for most of the weight loss. And engine mods have pushed peak claimed power up to 147bhp at 10,700rpm. Much of the power gain comes from a more efficient cylinder head, but the crank, fuel injection system, exhaust and ignition are all uprated too. Chassis geometry is sharper, with steeper steering head angle, shorter wheelbase and revised suspension. And the fairing looks much more aggressive, with a new headlight design and reshaped seat unit. Expect to see the Daytona in showrooms by May, costing about £8800 in the UK. |
