| Three new Kawasakis from the Japanese firm for 2002. The most striking change is the new ZX-6R (above) which gets a class-busting performance hike to 636cc. This big-bore update - the pistons are 2mm wider - should give the new 600-class Ninja a healthy dose of midrange grunt - just what you need on the road. | |||||

| The ZX-9R also gets a tweak, with a new braced swingarm, four-piston caliper and revised seat unit, as well as a host of detail changes for 2002. None of these mods will make it into a Suzuki GSX-R1000-beater, but they should make it a better road bike - always the ZX-9R's strength. | |||||

| The last model to receive an update is the ZX-12R. Again, it's a story of minor updates rather than sweeping changes. A heavier crank, shorter nose, tweaked frame and suspension are all easy to miss, but Kawasaki reckons you'll notice the difference on the road.
All these new models will be on display at the Milan Show from 18/9/01, and, of course, at the NEC show in November. |
